How Users Opt In to SMS Notifications

End users of Tooth Truth (www.mytoothtruth.com), a HIPAA-compliant dental platform for dentists and patients, opt in to receive SMS notifications through one of the following three methods. All SMS consent checkboxes are unchecked by default and require active user action.

Method 01

Direct Signup Form

Patient or Dentist signup at /signup โ€” separate unchecked SMS checkbox with full disclosure.

Method 02

Google Sign-In + Settings

Users who sign up via Google can add phone number and grant SMS consent via Settings > Phone Number.

Method 03

Notification Preferences

Registered users manage notification method via Settings > Notifications > Preference.

Notification Preferences โ€” Email / Phone / Both

Notification Preference Setting

Registered users manage notifications under Notifications > Preference. Options: Email, Phone, or Both. Selecting Phone or Both enables SMS only after the user has previously provided explicit SMS consent via Method (1) or (2). SMS is not activated by this toggle alone without prior consent.
